Letter from the Editor – Jan ’17.

In lieu of starting the New Year on a sour note by referring to what a turbulent 2016 it has been, why don’t we skip forward to where we now are and embrace and anticipate what will possibly be a defining year of the decade. Defining, not just in fashion, but fashion economy.

‘See now, buy now’, a recently introduced industry change in the dynamic of sales is now in full swing this season – the previous women’s calendar having been the initial experimental one; a grouping of men’s and women’s shows by several designers is another expected change, along with the several changes in directorships across the board of the industry.

Going into 2017, Vesque Magazine has a very decisive aim to keep it’s readers well informed and well styled. With the new year comes the new season, and just in the way we bid adieu to Fall/Winter ’16, we look forward to the Spring/Summer ’17 collections.

January is also Fashion Week month for the menswear calendar showcasing collection for the next season, Fall/Winter ‘17/18 – with London Fashion Week Men’s (previously London Collections: Men) kicking off on the 6th of January. Pitti Uomo in Florence follows on the 10th with Milan right after on the 13th and ending with Paris on the 18th. A week later, Men’s Fashion Week heads to New York on the 30th.

The Men’s Fashion Week schedule is as follows:

  1. London Collections: Men (6th-9th January)
  2. Pitti Uomo (10th-13th January)
  3. Milan Men’s Fashion Week (13th-17th January)
  4. Paris  Men’s Fashion Week (18th-22nd January)
  5. New York Men’s Fashion Week (30th-2nd February).

A chunk of the month will be dedicated to Men’s Fashion Week coverage, which will span from runway shows and collection breakdowns along with exclusive coverage of backstage reports and the heavily anticipated street style images.

After a full month of keeping you updated on Fashion Month happenings, we will follow it up with trends for Spring/Summer ’16 in February, featuring exclusive content only on the Vesque Magazine.
