The Girl on the Train is one of those stories that start off slowly, but once you reach a point of impact, it’s all high-speed from there. It’s a relatively fast-paced novel about endearing Rachel who is mourning the loss of someone close to her. Everyday on her way to work on the train, she says a couple sitting by the deck of their suburban home and enjoying breakfast. She thought it was one of those simple things that never gets taken away from you. Until it does.
One morning on her way to work, Rachel is on the look out for the same couple she admires everyday, but today was something different. What she witnesses has compelled her to do something about it, so she’s quick to alert the authorities. She is now glued to that fateful day and that couple and things just get worse. Question is, has she done more harm than good?
